This weekend saw the 2017 Goodwood Festival of Speed, one of the most iconic and well known motor shows in the world. Once again, the show was a huge success for all involved, with a great turnout and luckily the weather held out too!
Over the 4 day event, tens of thousands of people attended the show, all coming to view past and present vehicles climbing the hill, new car exhibitions and to also see the hundreds of trade stands.
The central feature was a sculpture to honour Bernie Ecclestone this year, which was designed by Gerry Judah, and included 5 cars from Bernie’s own collection. This year’s show also saw the Bonham’s auction, with an array of cars for sale, including a very rare RS Lightweight which sold for over £830,000! Bernie Ecclestone even took part in bidding for a few cars. A lot of people at the show always look forward to the Red Arrows displays, which this year were as impressive as ever; take a look at the photos we took of the Red Arrows.
The Festival of Speed is renowned for its new cars on display, which this year included the McLaren 570S Spider, Lamborghini Centenaro, Ford GT, brand new Ford Fiesta, and the Bugatti Chiron could be seen going up the hill.
We were there on stand 266 and were kept busy all weekend, with old customers and new. We would like to thank all of our existing customers who came back to see us as well as all of our new customers who bought covers for the first time. We love hearing your updates and car stories, and we are always pleased to hear existing customers are happy with our car covers. When we managed to have a break away from the stand, we had a look around the show and were pleased with how many of our car covers were seen around the paddock and show stands this year.
