After we made a very special Custom Made Outdoor Cover for his stunning Porsche 918 Spyder, featuring a special cooling flap on the back to allow the exhausts and battery to remain uncovered whilst the car was cooling down after use (read more about it here), we were contacted by the same customer and asked to make a similar cover for his incredible McLaren P1.
This amazing hypercar, capable of reaching speeds of almost 250mph, features a 3.8 litre twin-turbocharged V8 engine and can get from 0-60 in 2.8 seconds.Unfortunately, these incredible qualities don't stop some very undiscerning foxes from using the car as a playground. Luckily, our thick and tough Custom Outdoor fabric makes an effective barrier to inquisitive paws and, after the success of the cover on the Porsche 918 Spyder, our customer knew that the McLaren P1 needed the same defence.

With no long lead times necessary, our measuring team were able to get straight on the road and down to London. With the measurements taken, the team headed back up to our West Midlands based factory to start making this one of a kind cover.
Measuring a car usually takes between 40-60 minutes and is a complicated process. Luckily, as we've been measuring since 1989, our team has got it down to a fine art. As the proud creators of Europe's most comprehensive database of car measurements, it's becoming more and more rare that we are called out on the road, however the chance to measure a McLaren P1 isn't something that we come across every day! It was a wonderful opportunity and we're really looking forward to getting the cover finished and fitted so that we can take some photos!
