The Silverstone Classic in July was once again enjoyed a record breaking turnout with 90,000 visitors through the gate, 24 dedicated races with 1113 entries of the world’s finest race cars. Aston Martin continued its celebrations marking its centenary on Saturday with a spectacular exhibition. In addition to this Lamborghini celebrated 50 years of their amazing super cars with 80 various models on display including a tractor.
Sunday was the biggy for record breaking with a lap parade of the iconic Porsche 911 marking 50 years. Our friends at the Porsche Club GB organised the run hoping to entice 911 cars (Obviously!). But with such a great and loyal following the actual number was 1208. Heading the parade was Derek Bell a five-time Le Mans winner together with Mark Porsche, son of Ferdinand ‘Butzi’ Porsche, designer and creator of the original 911.
We,however, only see snippets of the racing but it was great to hear that the race prep guys at Pearsons Engineering had a tremendous weekend, many congratulations to you all. We will be looking forward to seeing the team again and the cars ‘beautifully covered’ at the next meeting. For more information on Pearsons Engineering
A special thanks goes to our new employee and very energetic helper on Friday. He certainly showed Adrian and myself how to sell!
You will recall that over the Classic Silverstone weekend your top salesman was very persuasive and as a result I purchase a green cover for my Morgan sports car. Please find below and attached photo for your company records.
