We were asked to make a Custom Outdoor Cover with a bit of a difference the other day for a car that has been met with rave reviews across the motoring world - the Porsche 918 Spyder.
Interestingly, Porsche never described the hybrid super car as a hypercar, but it seems to have been received as such - being pitted for comparison against the McLaren P1 and the Ferrari LaFerrari. All three together is an incredible sight...
We were very excited when we were approached by a customer who needed a very special outdoor cover for his Porsche 918 Spyder. Our customer needed a waterproof and breathable cover that he could use every day whilst the car was parked at his office - the problem being that the car engine compartment becomes very hot after driving. The twin exhausts are actually placed just behind the seats on the top of the car, so that any gas is immediately disposed of and the lithium ion battery does not become too warm.
Luckily, Classic Additions had it covered. We hit upon the idea to make one of our Custom Outdoor Covers with a cooling flap situated over the engine. That way there could be no danger of either the cover or the car becomming too hot. Our customer was thrilled with the result and kindly sent us over some pictures of a job well done, so natuarlly we wanted to share them!
